Default Do You Eat Lighter in the Summer?

When the weather gets warm (scheduled for this weekend for us!) do you eat more salad and light meals? What's your favorite meal when you don't want to heat up the kitchen by running the stove or oven?

After being hot all day, I seem to eat less and drink more liquids.

At this time of year I am yearning for all the wonderful fresh fruit coming our way. I can eat a bowl of strawberries and milk for my dinner anytime.

I definitely eat lighter, but that is more for "cosmetic" reasons than anything else.

We go on vacation in July, each year, so I spend June cutting back on what I eat to look good for the trip.

One of my favorite fruits, too! And I often eat them with milk. If I want something more, I'll just throw some shortcake with the berries.

Ah, glad to hear that you have a vacation coming up! I should do the same before a vacation. Do you count calories then or just trade heavier meals for lighter, and just know you're getting less calories because of the change?

I always eat more raw fruits and vegetables during the summer. I was never one to go for things like chili in the hot months.

I can't wait for more fruits to start appearing in season. I think the thing I'm
missing most right now is raspberries. And watermelon.

Especially as the humidity rises, I don't feel like eating much. Or cooking, for that matter.

I've noticed that, too... and yesterday was one of those days. It's like it's hard to focus or even move so who wants to think about something like eating?
